Refund Policy

A free tier to try first, cancel anytime, and a no-questions money-back window on your first payment.

Last updated: 15 September 2026

I want buying an ArnieWaves plug-in to feel low-risk and fair. There is a usable Free tier so you can try things before you pay a cent, and you can cancel a paid subscription at any time. Because of that, I keep refunds simple: a no-questions money-back window on your first subscription payment, and a straightforward, human process if something is wrong. This page explains how it works.

Try before you buy

ArnieWaves has a Free tier (€0, no credit card required). It is the intended way to evaluate the plug-in and decide whether a paid plan is right for you. There is no separate free trial. The Free tier is the trial.

If you later choose a paid plan (Basic or Pro), it is either a recurring subscription, billed monthly or yearly, or a one-time perpetual licence. The rules for each are below.

Cancel anytime

You can cancel your subscription whenever you like. When you cancel:

  • You are not charged again.
  • Your paid access continues until the end of the period you have already paid for.
  • After that, your account drops back to the Free tier.

You manage or cancel your subscription through the Polar customer portal (see "Who handles payments" below), or just email me and I'll help.

Money-back window on your first payment

If you subscribe to a paid plan for the first time and it turns out not to be right for you, you can ask for a full refund of that first payment within 30 days of it being charged. No questions asked, no hard feelings. Just email me.

This applies to your first subscription payment. It is meant for the "this isn't what I needed" case.

After the money-back window

Once the 30-day window on your first payment has passed, refunds work like this:

  • Cancelling stops all future billing, and you keep access until the end of the current paid period.
  • Payments for the current period, and renewal payments, are generally non-refundable, including partial refunds for time you didn't use.
  • I will still issue a refund where the law requires it, or at my discretion when there is a genuine problem, for example when the plug-in doesn't work for you and I'm unable to fix it. If something is broken, please tell me before asking for a refund; most issues I can sort out quickly.

ArnieWaves provides the plug-in "as is" and can't guarantee perfectly uninterrupted, glitch-free streaming, since that also depends on your network and third-party services. But a plug-in that genuinely doesn't work for you, and that I can't fix, is exactly the kind of case where I'll make it right.

Perpetual licences (one-time purchase)

A perpetual licence is paid once and does not renew. It gives you the Basic or Pro capabilities you bought (the listener count and audio quality shown at purchase) for as long as AudioTeleporter and its streaming service exist. There is no recurring charge, and updates are included.

  • Money-back window. If a perpetual licence turns out not to be right for you, you can ask for a full refund within 30 days of the purchase, no questions asked. Email me. The licence is removed from your account when the refund is issued.
  • Upgrades. Moving from a narrower licence to a wider one costs the difference between the two list prices at the time you upgrade; the amount you already paid is taken off the price on the checkout page. An upgrade is a new purchase with its own 30-day window; refunding it restores the licence you had before.
  • If you had a subscription. Buying a licence that gives you at least what your subscription gave ends that subscription on the spot, so you are not billed twice. The unused, already-paid part of your current subscription period is taken off the licence price at checkout, and this is shown as a separate line before you pay. Because the subscription has then ended, that unused time is compensated through the discount rather than refunded separately.
  • After the window. After 30 days a perpetual licence is non-refundable, except where the law requires it or, at my discretion, where the plug-in genuinely does not work for you and I cannot fix it, as described above.

Who handles payments (Polar)

Payments for ArnieWaves are handled by Polar (polar.sh), acting as the merchant of record. In practice this means Polar, not ArnieWaves, is the seller of record for the transaction: Polar runs the checkout, processes your payment, handles tax/VAT, issues your invoice/receipt, and provides a self-serve portal where you can manage or cancel your subscription and download invoices.

Because Polar is the merchant, refunds are processed through Polar. The easiest way to request one is to email me at arniewavesaudio@gmail.com and I'll arrange it with Polar. Depending on your situation you may also be able to request a refund directly through Polar. Either way, the refund is paid back to your original payment method by Polar, and the timing depends on Polar and your bank or card provider.

EU right of withdrawal (digital content)

ArnieWaves is based in the European Union, so if you are an EU consumer you normally have a statutory right to withdraw from a purchase within 14 days, without giving a reason.

There is an important exception for digital content: if you ask to start using a paid feature during that 14-day withdrawal period, and you acknowledge that doing so means you lose your right of withdrawal, then that statutory right can be waived once the paid feature has been supplied to you. This is standard for digital goods. In practice, the money-back window described above is designed to be at least as generous as this, so in most cases you're covered either way.

Nothing in this policy limits any mandatory consumer rights you have under the law of your country of residence.

How to request a refund

Email me at arniewavesaudio@gmail.com. It helps if you include the email address on your account and, if you have it, your Polar invoice or receipt number. There is no phone line and no other contact channel. Email reaches me directly.

I read these myself and I'll get back to you as a person, not a script.
