AudioTeleporter sessions can now have a password
Pro hosts can now lock a session with a password. Listeners open the link as usual and type the password before they hear anything. It is off by default, so nothing changes unless you switch it on.

Until now, anyone with your AudioTeleporter link could listen. Most of the time that is fine: you send the link to the two people who need it and that is where it stays. But links get forwarded and pasted into group chats, and when you are playing an unreleased master for a label, "probably nobody else has it" is not good enough.
So AudioTeleporter sessions can now have a password. It is part of Pro, whether you pay monthly, yearly or bought a Pro licence.
Switching it on
In the plug-in, open Settings (the gear in the top corner). Under Listener password, switch it on and type a password, then start your stream as usual. The share link looks the same as before.
Send the link the way you always do and give people the password separately: say it on the call, or put it in a different message. If the link and the password travel together, the password does not protect much.
The password is locked while you are streaming, because it belongs to that stream. To change it, stop, change it in Settings and start a new stream. The new stream gets a fresh link too.
What your listeners see
They open the link and press Play, like before. The player then asks for the password. They type it, press Join and play, and they are in. A wrong password shows "Wrong password. Try again." and clears the field for another go.
If their connection drops halfway through, the player rejoins with the same password without asking. If they reload the page, it asks again, because the browser does not store it.
Where the password goes
The plug-in sends it to the relay when your stream starts. The relay keeps only a one-way hash of it, in memory, while the session runs. It checks what listeners type against that hash and drops it when the session ends. Nothing is written to disk.
The plug-in does not save the password in your DAW project either. Projects get emailed, synced and handed to mix engineers, and a password stored inside one would go wherever the project goes. So when you reopen a project, the password is off again and you type it once more.
Guessing does not get anyone far. After ten wrong tries from the same network, the relay stops taking guesses from there for up to ten minutes. Everyone else can still join.
If you are not on Pro
Nothing changes. Your links work the way they always have, and anyone with the link can listen. In the plug-in's Settings the password switch shows a padlock; click it to open your account page, or compare the plans first.
